Covid-19 Pandemic Parent's Responsibility

Happy Tots Academy reserves the right to modify hours and operation policies and procedures at the center at any time. This is to ensure the health and safety of all families. Children, and staff. At this time, the hours of operation will remain 7:30a.m. to 6 p.m., but that is subject to change. 

Parent/Guardian/Authorized person will Drop off/pick child up at the center’s gate and will not be permitted into the classrooms. A staff member will receive the child at the second entrance gate. You must bring your own pen to sign the child in. If parents need to speak with the Director/teacher, they should contact the office via email/phone. We will make the director/teacher available to keep you updated and answer all your questions.

If a parent must enter a classroom for any reason (with preauthorized form from the director), they must wash their hands, remove their shoes, and not touch anything or any child during this time.

When a child is brought to the center, their temperature will be taken upon arrival and dismissal and they will go immediately to the sink to wash their hands.

Parents should wear masks all the time as well as wait for their turn to drop off/pick up their child while maintaining social distance (standing at least 6 feet apart from other parents, staff, and children)

Upon arrival every Monday (first day of attendance every week), children’s’ naptime items and change of clothes will be immediately packed in a disposable bag from the center and kept for one week. Please provide two large (Ziploc) bags) per child.

Children should bring their bottles/snacks/ in lunch boxes only with icepack inside as needed. Water cups are not allowed. If there is any exception, cups will be taken home each day.

All other items including change of clothing that need cleaning and naptime items will be sent home at the end of the week for a proper washing.

Children may not bring stuffed animals and/or other toys into the Center.

Any child with a fever of more than 100°F must stay home for 48 hours after the fever has broken without fever reducing medications. Doctor’s Note for returning before the 48 hours will not be allowed (No Exceptions

Any child showing any sign of a respiratory issue such as excessive coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath …etc., will be sent home and will need to be seen by a medical professional and present a doctor’s note for coming back to the Center. Parents will be required to notify the Director via email or phone within 24 hours to inform the school what the illness may be.  (No Exceptions)

If your child or anyone in the household or who was in direct contact with the parent of the child has a positive COVID-19 test result, parents must inform Happy Tots Director via email only, ASAP. The child will required to stay home for at least 14 days.

Happy Tots Academy will take every precaution to keep your child safe and healthy. 

It is the responsibility of the parents to be open and honest with the director about any illnesses your child and your household may be experiencing. We need your help in keeping children, and staff healthy by practicing social distancing and local recommendations regarding to the pandemic. Children should not be going out in public with parents; group gatherings, and playgrounds should be avoided. Any violation to any restrictions and regulations by a local or state professional will lead to termination of our agreements.

If a child has a cough and a fever, we may close the center for 24 hours for proper cleaning and sanitizing of the center in accordance with the Los Angeles Public Health and Licensing mandates.

If a parent/child tested positive for Covid-19, the center will be closed for a least 14 days.

There is no credit for your child’s sick days or holidays. This includes emergency closure due to natural disasters and/or pandemics. 

A late charge fee of $1.00 per minute is charge after closing time. In case of non-payment, parent will be responsible for all collection costs and all small claim court costs.
